Reduce,-Reuse,-and-Recycle

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

3rDisposal Queen’s motto is “your trash is our treasure.” We are, however, committed to an even more important treasure: our environment. We are strong supporters of the 3Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Practicing the 3Rs is how we all contribute to keeping our environment sustainable.

Almost everyone likes new things. Creating a new item consumes natural resources. It takes additional energy to manufacture those resources into a usable product. The products must then be transported to stores. Each step has a significant effect on the environment. When you reduce the number of new items you purchase, you help sustain the environment and reduce pollution.

resueReuse
Reusing items instead of buying new is essential for sustainability. When you do purchase something, choose reusable instead of disposable. Rather than purchase single-purpose items, buy products you can use in a variety of ways. Rent, borrow or buy used items from others. If you need a particular thing, rather than buy it, see if you can “repurpose” something you already have. Donate items that you no longer use to thrift shops or charities for others to reuse.

When an item is no longer usable, don’t just toss it in the trash. Check what can be recycled. Ask about our selective collection services, or take recyclables to collection centers.

Wee a green company that cares about the environment. We encourage you to practice the 3Rs to reduce, reuse, and recycle to preserve our greatest treasure.
